The We Are 13th Street Project includes numerous neighborhood meetings during the summer and fall of 2012 to develop a concept for public art to be designed by three local artists Jacklyn FaFlamme, Lorraine Maxwell and Glenn Mayo. In the winter (dry season) of 2012/2013, the designs created by the artists will be executed by volunteers from the Alliance area. On September 15, 2012, watch for A Day of Guerilla Art the first big public activity of We Are 13th Street art project.
H.O.M.E.S., Inc. and The 13th Street Alliance were recently awarded an Art of Community Grant through the Community Foundation of Broward. The Grant's purpose is to bond and bridge the neighborhood and create a sense of community by engaging residents to come together to explore roots, dreams, and share stories of themselves and the history of the neighborhood. Through these events, residents will create concepts and work with artists to design 3 large-scale outdoor art pieces for the 13th Street corridor. This project is called We Are 13th Street.
Three local artists are spearheading this project:

We need your help to make this project a success. The concept for the art is a result of your input - your ideas. To find out how you can get involved, call Michael Rohr at (954) 563-5454 or come to one of the following two events, where you can find out anything you want to know about this project.
